San Francisco Pride Parade 2018

Last Sunday was the day that Lola had been counting down to for weeks. It was the Pride Parade!

Unlike other kids who had been counting down the days until the end of the school year, Lola had been counting down to her favorite day filled with color, fun and well, a few nudies. This year's Pride parade did not disappoint. There was plenty of color, lots of love and happy vibes, goodies for the kids and, yes, the odd nudie every now and then.

The girls dressed in rainbow attire and decorated their faces with rainbow zinc cream (protection and decoration all in one!) and then we hopped on BART to head into the city for the day.

The Pride Parade is always such a fun day out. I love that the whole city comes together to celebrate. We watched the parade for over four hours and in that time we saw people from all walks of life. Local companies featured heavily in the parade (and hand out a lot of goodies to the crowd) but there  were also community groups, schools, politicians, sporting groups, churches, activists, social clubs and, of course, nudists.

Let's take a look at some of the fun...

  Warning... nudies coming up!

 No more nudies!

When the Wells Fargo contingent passed by us both Lola and Mathilde were given plush horses. Mathilde was also given one last year, and Lola the year before, so now we have four of them.

Going cross eyed for photos in Mathilde's new favorite thing and Ava just had to copy.

Ok, back to the parade.

Like always, there was an awful lot of loot handed out the girls. Necklaces, flags, pinwheels, stickers, candy, badges, headbands, bracelets, and the a fore mentioned plush horses. Ava and Lola knew to expect a lot and made sure to bring empty backpacks with them so they could carry their goodies home!

On our walk to Bart at the end of the day we stopped by the Museum of Ice Cream for photos with the rainbow unicorn display in one of the windows. Seriously, could there be a better window display for Pride? This is their regular window display, but it really is perfect for Pride Month!

If you've made it this far, thanks for reading!
