Mother's Days Past

Mother's Day is only a few days away so I thought I'd share a few of the cards I've made in the past.

Let's go back in time...

2007
Mother's Day 2007 was my first as a mother myself. Ava was only 3 months old at the time so not really the most cooperative when it came to taking happy snaps for cards. I posed her in our backyard with a stem of bright geranium flowers from the garden. Being a baby, she started trying to eat the flowers while I was taking photos! Lucky they weren't poisonous.
Look at how much darker Ava's hair was back then...

Holding the flowers nicely...

... and then taking a big bite!

2008
Just before Mother's Day in 2008 we were at Belair National Park in Adelaide. It was a beautiful day and I happened to have my camera so I thought it would make the perfect location for a Mother's Day photo shoot.
One thing that I love about this particular photo is what's happening behind the scenes and out of view of the camera. You can't see it in this shot but Kim is lying flat on the ground behind that log with his hand on Ava's back just incase she toppled over!

2009
Mother's Day 2009 Ava was almost two and a half, an age when she was happy to pose for photos and could actually pose how she was asked - most of the time :)
I set up a little tea party for Ava with a few of her favourite cuddly toys and snapped away while they took pretend sips of their pretend beverages.
I couldn't choose which photo I liked best so I used my three favourites as a collage instead.
Can you believe that Ava still wears the skirt she's wearing in these photos? She's so much taller than she was back then but I guess her waist measurement hasn't changed much.

Here are a few "out takes" from our shoot.

Some milk Miss Gertie?

Love those little red shoes under the table

Drink up bear

Getting a little silly toward the end!

2010
I have no idea what I did for Mother's Day cards in 2010. I can't find any photos on the computer and I have absolutely no memory of it so I'm guessing we went with store bought cards. I do have an excuse though... I was pregnant with Lola at the time and working on a major house renovation project so I was pretty distracted with other things. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!

2011
Last year I put up a post about the Mother's Day cards that I made for the Grandmas and Great Grandmas in 2011. You can find it here.
And here's a picture of the finished product with my two beautiful little girls.
