35+ Must See Murals in Nashville

Have you ever been to Nashville?

If you're anything like me, you probably have an idea in your head that the whole city is nothing but country music, but I'm hear to tell you that there's so much more to see and do in Nashville.

Ok, so yes, country music is BIG in Nashville and its presence is felt everywhere, but this vibrant city has so much more to offer - especially if you love street art as much as I do!

I recently spent a few days exploring Nashville while I was in town for Mom 2.0 Summit and I was in awe of just how much street art can be found all around town. So today I'm sharing the best murals I found. It's only a tiny glimpse of just how colorful the city is, but I only had a few days to explore and I was busy with other fun touristy stuff that I'll be sharing soon.

If you're planning a visit to Nashville and you love finding colorful murals, read on...

Nashville is a pretty big city, so I've divided this list into neighborhoods. That way you'll know that the murals in each section are relatively close to each other. The Downtown, SoBro and Gulch neighborhoods are all within easy walking distance of each other, however the 12 South neighborhood will require driving to. I took an Uber between Downtown and 12 South and it cost me around $11.00 each direction. I've also thrown in one Opryland mural in this list. I didn't explore the area an awful lot and I'm really not sure if there are many murals around there, but this one was right by my hotel on the first night and I couldn't resist adding it. Opryland is east of Downtown and will cost you about $20 for an Uber.

Where to Find Street Art in Phoenix

By now I'm sure it comes as no surprise that I'm a BIG fan of street art.

I'm also a big fan of traveling.

So when I come across fun street art while on vacation I'm in heaven! Nothing like combining two of your favorite things, right?

Our recent trip to Phoenix, Arizona over Spring Break turned out to be one such trip. I already knew that Phoenix was home to some pretty great street art, but I was not prepared for just how much of it there would be. Spoiler alert... Phoenix has a LOT of street art!

Today I'm sharing some of my favorite street art finds from our time in Phoenix.

There's a lot of great street art to be found all throughout Phoenix, and taking a drive or walk in ay direction is sure to lead you to some colorful walls. It was pretty hot already when we visited Phoenix over Spring Break and it's a pretty sprawled city, so before we headed out for the day I did a little research online and found particular murals and areas I wanted to go check out. Usually I'm more of a "wander around and see what we find" kind of girl, but I'm also not a fan of heat, so being prepared made things a lot easier.

Here are some of the must see murals around Phoenix...

Colfax Canvas 2021

A few weekends back Mathilde and I headed to Aurora for the annual Colfax Canvas street art festival. The festival is in its second year and this was our second time attending. Two for two!

If you've been here for any amount of time you'll know I'm a big fan of street art, so a street art festival is right up my alley. We're lucky that between the Denver and Boulder metropolitan areas there are actually quite a few street art festivals each year. Along with Colfax Canvas in Aurora there is Crush Walls in Denver's RiNo neighborhood, Streetwise Boulder, and Babe Walls which changes location each year. While some of the artists who take part in these events are from other cities and states, most are based here in Colorado, which just goes to show what a wealth of local talent we have here. I've made sure to tag all of the photos with the artist's Instagram handles so you can look them up and see their other works.

Ok, enough talking, let's look at some street art!

Crush Walls 2020 & RiNo Street Art

Lat weekend the kids and I spent a day in Denver's RiNo neighborhood checking out the annual Crush Walls street art festival.

By now, you'll know I'm a big street art fan. You won't need to look back far through the archives to see that as my last post was also about a street art festival. Ha! Actually, this is our third street art festival in just a few months.

Anyway, Crush Walls is an annual festival that takes part in Denver's River North, or RiNo, arts district every September since 2010. I had been worried that it would be canceled this year due to Covid, so it was a pleasant surprise when I read that it was still going ahead - with masks and social distancing, of course. The festival features events throughout the week culminating in the main event on the weekend. We attended on the Sunday. I always like to go to these sorts of things a little later as we get to see more finished pieces.

Let's take a look at all the color and fun of Crush Walls 2020 - plus a lot of other murals that we checked out in RiNo.
