Easter 2019

Time to play catch up with a look back at our Easter celebrations...

Things have been pretty crazy around these parts with travel, conferences, parties, some major changes coming up, and just general life taking up pretty much all of my time. If you've been following along with my Instagram stories you'll know what I mean! And if you're not following along with my Instagram stories make sure to check them out here.

Anyway, back to Easter...

On Easter Sunday morning Mathilde woke up super early, eager to head out to the living room to see if the Easter Bunny had visited. Ava and Lola, however were much more keen to have a sleep in, as was I, but thanks to the constant barrage of "wake up, wake up, wake up.." from Mathilde a sleep in wasn't on the cards for anyone - well, except maybe Kim who can sleep through anything!

We headed out to the living room, and while there were no sparkly bunny tracks this year (the Easter Bunny was super exhausted the night before!) there was indeed proof that we had had an overnight visitor. The table was filled with colorful gifts and the girls' Easter bags were filled with goodies.Oh, and the carrots that we had left out had been eaten.

The colorful presents on the table were actually from Kim and I rather than the Easter Bunny. We gave the girls rainbow play silks and giant clips for fort building from Sarah's Silks, egg shaped bathbombs, sparkling bunny clips from Hello Shiso and lots of chocolate. The play silks made the perfect wrapping for the gifts.

Mathilde decided that she needed to dress as a Peep for Easter. Every holiday needs costumes, right? Her yellow pajamas from primary.com (from her Pikachu costume last Halloween) were just the right shade of yellow, and her headband from Hello Shiso made the perfect finishing touch.

After unwrapping Easter goodies and eating breakfast we colored eggs. Usually this is something we'd do in the lead up to Easter Sunday, but with so much else going on at the moment it got missed.

Once our colored eggs were dry we headed out to the courtyard for an egg hunt. I hid the colored eggs and plastic eggs filled with chocolate around the garden. Unfortunately, the gardener had visited recently and trimmed all of the grass plants back a LOT so there weren't too many good hiding places. That said, we did still end up with a few eggs that were near impossible to find.

I hope you had a wonderful Easter too!
