Easter is done for another year. Did you celebrate over the weekend?

This year's Easter was quite different from last year's Easter in one major way. Nope - nothing covid related. This year we had a beautiful, warm and sunny Spring day. Last year we had a snowy Easter. While I was happy for the good weather, I've got to say that I actually really liked our white Easter last year. 

Anyway, the warm weather meant that we could do more of our regular Easter activities outside. We decorated eggs outside, had our egg hunt outside, and smashed cascarones (confetti eggs) on the trampoline.

Easter 2020

Did you celebrate Easter this past weekend? Was it very different from your usual Easter celebrations?

Our Easter certainly was very different for us, and not because of the Coronavirus. As I shared in my previous post, we always celebrate Easter at home by ourselves, so there was no difference in that respect. What was different, however, was that we had a white Easter! Yep - it snowed here in Colorado! It was quite a lot of snow too and it continued all through Sunday and most of Monday.

The snow didn't stop us from celebrating though. In fact, an Easter egg hunt in the snow was much more entertaining than our usual Easter egg hunts. The kids loved it and I have to say that I did too.

Things have been pretty crazy around these parts with travel, conferences, parties, some major changes coming up, and just general life taking up pretty much all of my time. Easter 2015

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend. 

We had a lovely weekend with an Easter party at a friend's home on the Saturday and a day spent at home with Easter eggs, hot cross buns, an egg hunt and rain (yes, rain!) on the Sunday. Ava is back at school today and Kim is back at work after our week long Spring break (lots of posts about our adventures coming soon) but it still feels weird to me that there is no holiday for Easter Monday.

Preschool Easter Party

Today Lola's preschool class had an Easter Party.

Her class sang songs that they've been learning, we shared a potluck lunch and, everyone's favourite part, the kids took part in an Easter egg hunt.

Happy Easter!

We had a lovely Easter Sunday at home yesterday. The Easter Bunny visited over night leaving treats for the girls, we made a mess throwing confetti eggs at each other, we wore bunny ears, we hunted for eggs in our courtyard, and hunted for even more eggs downstairs at Trader Joe's.

As expected the girls both woke up nice and early, eager to see if the Easter Bunny had visited. As soon as they stepped out into the living room they could see that the Easter Bunny had indeed been as he'd left behind a trail of sparkly footprints. That messy bunny!

Easter Party

I mentioned earlier that last weekend was a busy one for us with a cheerleading competition and an Easter Party. We've already seen the cheerleading competition - go Berkeley Bear Cubs! - so now let's see the Easter party...
