Untitled at 3 Freeman Alley

Disclaimer: Our stay at Untitled at 3 Freeman Alley was discounted in exchange for this post. All photos and views are my own.

Calling all street art lovers!

I've found THE perfect hotel for you in New York!

During our visit to New York earlier this Summer, we stayed at Untitled at 3 Freeman Alley, and it was one of my favorite hotels we've ever stayed at. A handy location in the Lower East Side neighborhood, well-thought-out guest rooms, an onsite cafe and bar, stunning views over the city, fun and well designed communal facilities, friendly and helpful staff, delicious breakfast included, an onsite tattoo studio... oh, and did I mention street art?

Untitled is located in New York's iconic Freeman Alley. This short alleyway is home to an ever changing array of street art. And when I say ever changing, I mean it. Each day when we walked out of the hotel in the morning we were met with new art. When we returned each evening, there was yet more new art. If we saw a mural we wanted a picture with, we quickly learned to snap a shot right away, because we never knew what we'd find the next time we walked past!

The street art aesthetic continues through Freeman Alley and into Untitled itself, where murals and local art meet modern design. Colorful artworks decorate the walls, while the plush fabrics and warm natural woods and stone of the furniture create a balanced and comfortable environment. Everywhere you look there's something to see, but it doesn't overwhelm. It's the perfect mix of street art and Scandinavian inspired design. A little edgy, but also cozy. Just like the city itself.

Let's take a look...

New York Trip 2026

New York City baby!

The city that never sleeps!

The Big Apple!

No matter what you want to call it, New York is my all time favorite city and we were lucky enough to spend almost a week there for my birthday recently. This was my sixth (I think) visit to New York, and let me tell you, it never gets old. There's so much to see and do there that we rarely do the same thing twice when we visit, and yet we always leave feeling like we barely scratched the surface.

26 Fun Things to do in New York with Kids

New York City.

It's my favorite city ever and one of the few places that I'm happy to visit over and over again on vacation. With so many amazing places to visit around the world I like to spend my vacation time visiting somewhere new, but there's something about New York City that always draws me in.  There's always something new to see, something new to taste, something new to experience. You could visit over and over again and never do the same things twice. There really is something for everyone no matter where your interests lie.

While I find New York to be a very family friendly destination, I often see questions pop up in travel groups about just what to do and where to go while visiting there with kids. So today I thought I'd share twenty six of my favorite kid friendly activities in New York City.

Some of these are popular destinations on every visitor's list, while others are lesser known in tourist circles, but still definitely worth a visit.

So here they are, in no particular order, my top twenty five things to do when visiting New York City with kids...

Ava's Travel Journal

We've already had a look at all the fun we had on our recent trip to Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec and New York but now I thought I'd show you our trip from Ava's perspective.

As Ava was away from school for almost two weeks she was given a pack of school work to keep her busy and to prevent her from getting behind in her work. Part of her work pack was keeping a travel journal. This was a great way for Ava to document her favourite parts of our trip and to practise her writing.

Here's a look at our trip through Ava's eyes...

"I went on an airplane. I flew to Ottawa. I watched 1 show then I went to sleep."

New York City: Part 3

Our last full day in New York was a busy one. We certainly crammed a lot of fun into a short time!

We started the day with bagels and coffee (how else would a day in New York start?) and hopped on the subway to Brooklyn. Seeing Manhattan from across the water is always amazing and the girls were pretty excited that we were a little bit closer to the Statue of Liberty. They desperately wanted to  go visit their favourite green lady up close however we just didn't have the time on this quick trip. Our view of her from Brooklyn was a pretty good one and the girls were happy with that.

What a view
