Our Christmas Cards 2016

It's finally starting to feel like Christmas around here. We may not have a tree yet, or any decorations up, but I did send our Christmas cards out yesterday!

This year, like last year, I printed our Christmas cards with Minted. I was so happy with the quality of our cards last year and the variety of the designs available that I just couldn't go past Minted when it came to making this year's cards. I am so happy with how they turned out!

After our recent photo shoot with with Sarah Sloboda, I had a lot of fantastic photos to chose from. I like to stick with just having the girls on the front of the card so I narrowed down my choices to a shot with all three (kind of) looking at the camera and a lot of negative space. The colors in our photos are quite subdued and the lines of the background very simplistic, so I decided to go with a modern card design with a touch of foil pressed sparkle.

I've never ordered the foil pressed cards before, but I've got to say that I love how the foil shimmers and contrasts with the matte card stock. I chose a rose gold color and it blends so nicely with the colors in the photo - especially Ava's faded purple/pink hair!

For the back of the card I added a family photo with a brief greeting.

One of my favorite things about making my Christmas cards with Minted is the option to have all of the envelopes addressed ready to send out. You won't believe how much time this saves! The best part, is that this option is at no extra charge! As I had our cards made with Minted last year I already had an address list in my account ready to go - with a few updates for friends who had moved over the past year.

Minted also offers the addition of a return address on envelopes for an extra charge, however as I have an address stamp I chose not to go with this particular option. If I didn't have an address stamp,
I would definitely have gone with this option as it would've saved even more time. And at this time of year I need all the time I can get!

One of the things I love about using Minted for my cards is how easy the webpage is to navigate. My favorite feature is "Find It Fast", an option that allows you to preview all of the card designs with your chosen photo. It takes so much guess work out of choosing the right design for your particular photo.

Once I chose the design that I liked best there were many options available to customize it further, from different foil colors, different fonts and text sizes, and various corner finishes. I like the softness of the rounded corners so I always go for those.

The customization options for the back of the card go even further. The back can be left blank, filled with a color or design, a message, photos, or a combination. The prices of each update are clearly shown with each option which means there are no surprises when you finish your design and head to the checkout.

I'm so happy with how our cards came out this year. Have you sent your cards yet? There's still time to order with Minted! Go find your perfect holiday cards at www.minted.com
